Nicolas Godefroy

Founding Partner of Godefroy Larcher Avocats, Nicolas Godefroy began his career in 1993 at SARRUT, law firm founded in 1946 and one of the first French firms dedicated to international business law. There, Nicolas advised on commercial litigation and arbitration for a primarily international clientele. In 2005, Nicolas created one of the first law firm departments in France to offer both full litigation services in industrial property and strategic trademark portfolio management.
A well-regarded practitioner in intellectual property law, his main area of practice for many years, Nicolas advises clients both in France and abroad, in both advisory and litigation matters related to copyright and trademark law.
Nicolas also advises clients in the design and communication sectors, where legal validation is key to enabling the deployment of creative works and campaigns. Nicolas Godefroy is committed to building strong, trust-based partnerships with communication professionals.
Nicolas has been a board member for over a decade of a Paris-based social, cultural, and housing centre.
Nicolas is recognized for his expertise and has been regularly listed as a “Leading Individual” in the World Trademark Review (WTR) rankings since 2015.
Nicolas has been admitted to the Paris Bar in 1993.
